This is what a real trumpet player sounds like.  This is Wayne Burgeron playing with The River City Big Band.  I went to see them on Saturday.  It was depressing - they make it look so easy. But it sure isn't.  Even Mr. Missal thought that he should hang up his trumpet after hearing Wayne Burgeron play.  Mr. Burgeron has played on lots of different albums and for movies. How cool is it to hear him play and to hear Mr. Missal play with him. His wikkipedia page says:   Wayne Bergeron  (born January 16, 1958 ) is an American  jazz musician  and  trumpet player  who rose to fame in the mid 1980s after playing lead trumpet in  Maynard Ferguson 's band. So this is what I sound like now... oh my gosh a long way to go.  I didn't play for a week and I discovered that I almost have to start all over again. So learning a skill is something that has to happen everyday.  I need to practice every day or my lips forget how!
The struggle is real. The whole weekend went by and I didn't play once. Life sometimes gets in the way of learning something new. There were too many other responsibilities. I will have to carve out some time this week or I am really not going to be able to do this. Tomorrow I will try to record what I sound like so far.

Sometimes it is a struggle....

So it has been hard to find time to practice and I live in an apartment and I am afraid that I might scare my neighbours.  They may think that I am in here killing a creature of some kind.  I am managing to make sounds but my ear isn't good enough to hear if they are correct.  I might have to get a musician to guide me. My goals for next week are: 1.  Play on Monday and Wednesday and possibly Friday at school for 1/2 hour. 2. Get some coaching to make sure that I am doing it right. 3. Learn at least 3 notes by the end of next Friday.
